If you're considering having all of your teeth replaced with dental implants and a bridge, chances are good you've been looking at solutions like All on 4 or All on 5. The trouble is that's it's difficult deciding between one option or another.

While some people will be recommended one of the options over the other, others will have the luxury of choosing which one they prefer. Read on to learn the differences so you can hopefully choose the option that is going to work the best for you.

Consider Support Versus Cost and Complication

There are a few different factors to consider when deciding between All on 4 and All on 5 dental procedures. All on 4 uses fewer implants, is more affordable and requires a bit less healing afterwards. All on 4 also depends more heavily on each one of those implants to perform properly.

If one of the implants fails, or it stops functioning the way that it is supposed to, the mouth won't function properly any longer. This is a very real consideration that patients need to make when looking into permanent dental bridges.

All on 5 requires more recovery time, it's a more expensive procedure, but it adds in an additional support to the mouth. That means even if one of those implants stops functioning as it should, or the surgeon has trouble with one of the implants, it's still possible that the full set of replacement teeth will function as they are supposed to.

Ultimately, it's impossible to decide between the different full-mouth implant options on your own. That's why we have patients come in for a full consultation to determine which option is the best one for them. We discuss All on 5 as well as All on 4 and other implant options and determine which is the best fit for them. If you would like replacement teeth installed in your mouth, come in and speak with us about your options and which is going to work best for you overall.
