Dental implants are becoming more and more common in the dentistry world, and at our office, we're pleased to inform you that we have begun implementing cone beam technology to greatly improve your chances of success with your new dental implants. But what exactly is cone beam technology and how does it help? Improving Accuracy and Confidence Our clinicians have been using cone beam technology with great success. The scanners help us by producing images of your jaw and teeth that allow us to plan dental implants with accuracy and a higher rate of success. It is a three dimensional imaging system that gives us a better view of what's really going on below the gum line in your mouth. There is a greatly reduced amount of radiation compared to traditional x-ray technology, and this means less risk to you as a patient. The 3D imaging allows our staff to go beyond simple diagnostics by allowing surgical planning and accuracy. This means that you as a patient can come in knowing that our staff is confident about the procedure and the placement of your dental implants. What to Expect During a cone beam CT examination, we'll ask that you remove all metal jewelry, eyeglasses or anything that may interfere with the imaging process, including hearing aids or hair pins. During your exam, the C-arm will rotate around your head in a complete 360 degree rotation that will capture multiple images from different angles. These are then reconstructed to give us a perfect, single 3-D image. After your exam, our team will analyze the images and decide with you what implants are the most appropriate for your situation. The accuracy that we are able to obtain by using the cone beam technology greatly helps increase your chances of success with your dental implants. Please give our office a call today to discuss whether dental implants are right for you! |
