There is something special about seeing a tooth emerge from the gums, but what happens when the teeth fail to break through the skin. It leads to a problem called an impacted tooth. We can help people treat the impacted tooth and relieve the pain and discomfort that comes with it.

When No Symptoms Exist

There are times when you will not have any symptoms from an impacted tooth. A person who is asymptomatic may think they have nothing to worry about. They assume they can go on and do not need to seek any treatment for their impacted tooth. There are many reasons that a person should seek treatment even if they are asymptomatic.

•  If the cause of the impacted tooth is a lack of room to grow, it is difficult to clean the tooth properly. This can lead to problems later.
•  No symptoms does not mean the tooth is free of disease. It is possible that the impacted tooth will cause symptoms later or it may cause problems with other teeth if it already has bacteria in it.
•  Treating the impacted teeth only gets harder if you wait.

How We Treat Impacted Teeth

If you are experiencing symptoms of an impacted tooth such as pain or swelling, it is possible to treat it. It is also possible to determine if an impacted tooth under attack from a disease, even if there are no symptoms.

The most common form of treatment is surgical removal of the tooth. This is done with anesthesia to make it a painless procedure. With the proper care after treatment, the amount of discomfort a person feels is considerably less than if they avoid treatment at all.
